Associated Initiatives
Lead-Up International Associated Initiatives
Associated initiatives are activities, projects or interventions led and coordinated by our Lead-Up Champions as part of the third stage of the Lead-Up Model, “Being the Change“.
At Lead-up we believe that empowering and mentoring our young champions to be Peaceful Leaders of Change in their own communities is the only way to have a lasting, sustainable impact in their lives and communities. This is why, through Being the Change we encourage and support Social Transformation Initiatives, at the individual and collective level, through which our champions put into practice the Lead-Up values and skills they have developed.
We currently have two active Associated Initiatives: Champions Café and Urban HeArt.
Champions Café
Champions Café is a social enterprise designed and managed by Champions of Lead-Up. It is a café and center for the arts located in Jocotenango, a space that unites people and where everyone is welcome.
This initiative employs and supports the continuous learning of graduates from the Vocational Program.
How to support Champions Café
Direct donation through Lead-Up Guatemala
You can contribute to the existing maintenance, improvement and expansion of the Champions Café in Guatemala through a direct donation to Lead-Up Guatemala.
Contribute to setting up new Champions Café locations
You can contribute to expanding the Champions Café model to other communities where we have interventions and where Lead-Up Champions would benefit from more social, artistic and inclusive work spaces.

Urban HeArt
Urban HeArt is a youth collective of artists and community activists graduated from Lead-Up who seek to use art as a tool for social transformation and who, inspired by the visit of the famous urban artist 'Chota' from Comuna 13 in Colombia, created the Urban HeArt Tour, a community tour through which they seek to share their stories, art and spaces.

Donate to Urban HeArt
Urban HeArt is constantly improving and transforming their community through murals inspired by Lead-Up Values as well as through community events that create spaces for the recreation and development of children and youth from the community. You can support these initiatives through direct or in-kind donations for the murals as well as for community events and workshops.
Donate to contribute to the Urban HeArt Youth Center
One of the main goals of the Urban HeArt Collective is to build and equip a Youth Center for the Arts in Jocotenango. A space where youth can gather, learn and express themselves through peaceful means.
A percentage of all their tours goes towards this goal. If you are unable to participate in their tours but still wish to contribute, please contact us so we can help connect you and donate towards this goal.
